Vaseline Pano

I know it's not a new idea to put vaseline on your lens to give a photo that 'dreamy' look but it's something I've been meaning to get round to trying for a while. This is a two shot pano done in camera, with a Holga, in St. Mary's Graveyard, Leyton. Vaseline applied directly to the lens. Scan from neg. HP5, I think. Hp5 is my new Neopan, at least for a while.

Wow, has it really been that long since my last post? I had a bit of a manic last quarter of last year. A week long trip to Cumbria resulted in around 30 rolls of film to dev and print (still working on them) and finally, the sale of my house, at last! Brutalism Revisited

Moving away from the film swap series for a moment. I've been meaning to get back to the Belfron Tower, Ernő Goldfinger's Brutialist 60's masterpiece, for a while now. I discovered on my arrive that I only had 4 shots left on my Diana and two of those I took with the 'B' setting accidentally on (again). Still, it's only a 15 min walk from where I live now. This is Delta 400, which I'm trying out as a replacement for Neopan 400 when stock go. Semi-stand developed in Rodinal 1+100 for 36mins. This is a scan from neg. Will see how it prints when I'm next in the darkroom but on initial inspection contrast looks good! Could be a nice (if rather expensive) replacement film.

I think we were both pretty amazed with the results of this film swap, and it really was the spur for me to do this blog.

This is the first of a series of 'film swaps' I did with Kim. She shot a roll of film in Detroit and sent it to me and I exposed over the same roll of film, here in London. she sent me two colours rolls, one I cross processed, the other normal and I send her back a black and white which she printed.

My first non-London shot posted to the blog! It's Horsell Common, just outside the M25 (so nearly in London). Horsell is the area in H. G. Wells' The War of the Worlds where the Martians first landed.
